Our Shepherds-Our Future Event
On May 16, 2023 we hosted our first event, Our Shepherds-Our Future to raise money for the St. John Paul II Fund for Seminarian Education. Held at the Lodge at Camp Red Cedar, the evening included a cocktail and hors d'oeuvres reception and a presentation by our seminarians: Michael Hickey, Jonathan Hickey and Dcn. Jacob Schneider. Thank you to our many sponsors, including The DeHayes Group, Schenkel Construction, Tom & Kathy Skiba, Star Financial and Summit Consultants, Inc. The goal is to make this an annual event to raise awareness and funding for this very important endowment for Seminarian Education. For more information or to donate click here.

Patron Saint of the CCFNEI: St. Katharine Drexel
A few years ago Bishop Kevin C. Rhoades named St. Katharine Drexel the Patron Saint of our Catholic Community Foundation. St. Katharine Drexel is a true example of Stewardship. The 2nd American-born canonized saint, was born into great wealth in Philadelphia in 1858. Soon after her birth, her mother passed away and she was then raised by her father and step-mother who were firm believers in philanthropy, especially tending to the needs of the poor. Leading by example, as a young women, St. Katharine Drexel became aware of the difficult circumstances that were facing Native Americans and African Americans of that time. She used her inherited fortune to serve these groups. She funded many institutions, including schools. St. Katharine Drexel died in 1955, and was beatified by Pope Saint John Paul II in 1988 and canonized in 2000. Her feast day is March 3rd. St. Katharine Drexel, pray for us!
