Once again, the Catholic Community Foundation of Northeast Indiana sponsored the #iGIVECATHOLIC Day of Giving platform for those parishes, churches and ministries that chose to participate within the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend. This year’s Day of Giving was held on Tuesday, November 30th, with early giving beginning on November 15th. We had 42 ministries participating, attracting 332 donors generating over $185,000! Our team considers this such a great success, and we want to say thank you so much to those who donated.
Katie Slee, Development Director at Bishop Dwenger High School said that this platform was an easy, efficient way to reach their donors. Bishop Dwenger had tremendous success this year, raising over $80,000. They actually ranked in the top 50 of all participating ministries within the entire country! One key to Bishop Dwenger’s success was that they focused on one fundraising goal and communicated this goal early to their donors. Having a specific funding need is really the key ingredient to running a successful campaign. The more transparent the better when asking for donations.
Another great success story is the University of St. Francis. Tess Steffen of their Office of Institutional Advancement stated that this was their 3rd year participating in the #iGIVECATHOLIC Day of Giving. She described the platform as a user-friendly and affordable way to crowdfund on Giving Tuesday. Their website had allowed them to increase the level of interest, increasing the number of new donors and amounts of donations year-after-year. Along with Bishop Dwenger, USF also attained matching donors which played an important role in the dollars that they both raised.
The Foundation is so happy to provide this great platform to all those who participated. Next year’s Day of Giving is Tuesday, November 29, 2022. Mark your calendars for this wonderful event and support your favorite Catholic cause!
