Father Adam Schmitt truly lives his life devoted to God. Born December 22, 1931, Father Adam knew he wanted to be a priest in the 4th grade while attending St. Peter’s School in Fort Wayne, Indiana. At the age of 13, he entered seminary and studied at Sacred Heart Seminary, Our Lady of the Lake, and Saint Meinrad Seminary. Father Adam found his home, serving almost 25 years at St. Joseph Parish in Fort Wayne. His life of service to God and his faith community are great accomplishments.
In 2022, he received an inheritance from a deceased family member. After prayerful consideration, in keeping with his character he wanted to continue his dedication to the priesthood by setting up an endowment for Seminarian Education. Father Adam has given so much of his life to serving the Lord and feels it so important to give these funds to strengthen our Catholic community. He is a wonderful example to us being called to give our Time, Talent and Treasure!
